Good for summaries, slow support

I used the PDF Summarizer feature for a few articles last month, and it worked pretty well, saved me some time. The summaries were accurate enough for my needs. I had a small billing question and tried contacting support, but it took about three days to get a response, which was a bit longer than I expected. Overall, it's a solid tool, but they could definitely speed up customer service.

AI Copilot and Literature Search

I signed up for the premium plan to try out the AI Copilot for Reading and the Literature Search. The Literature Search was quite good; I found some relevant papers I hadn't come across before, and filtering options were decent. The AI Copilot was impressive for breaking down complex papers. It really helped clarify methodology sections for me. I tested it on about ten PDFs, and it handled everything smoothly. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, I didn't run into any glitches. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the Copilot's answers felt a little generic, but for the most part, it's a very useful tool for researchers. Delivery, in this case, was instant access, of course.

Reliable for systematic reviews

This isn't my first time using SciSpace; I've been a user for about a year now. I primarily use the Systematic Review Tool and the Data Extraction from PDFs. This last project, a review on climate modeling, went as smoothly as previous ones. The platform is consistently reliable, and the data extraction is quite accurate, saving a lot of manual effort. It's why I keep coming back. I compared it to some alternatives like Elicit early on, but found SciSpace's systematic review features were more robust for my specific needs.

How do you even put in a promo code? Couldn't find a box for it when I was looking at the plans.

It's on the checkout page, you'll see a spot for it when you're actually upgrading to premium.

Just keep going through the upgrade process for premium, it pops up before final payment.

Does anyone know if SciSpace handles multiple languages for the papers? I read a lot of stuff that isn't just English.

L Laura 1 month ago
I've mostly used it for English papers, but I think it can handle others. Saw something about that in their help docs.

Pretty sure it supports multiple languages, especially for the summarization tools. Don't quote me on all features though.

They usually have it, especially if you're doing a PhD. Check their pricing page, afaik it's there.

Is there a free trial for the premium stuff? Don't wanna commit before knowing if it's right for me.

D Dan 1 month ago
Yep, there's usually a free trial. You can test out the premium features for a bit to see if you like it.

Yeah, I did the free trial before I bought it. Gave me enough time to figure out if it was worth it.

Is the SciSpace Copilot thing actually good? I use ChatPDF sometimes but it's kinda basic.

M Mia 1 month ago
It's way better than ChatPDF for actual research. More in-depth and helps with synthesizing info across papers.

I've found it pretty accurate for summarizing and pulling out key points. Much more useful than just asking basic questions from a single doc.
